Testimonies from church members present and past
Following are two testimonies from husband and wife,
Prabakar and Diviga, it tells the story that God not only takes care of the big
things in our lives but also the small things. Our God makes the impossible
possible. (Testimonies given in 2014)
Prabakar K Velusamy
This is one of my testimonies which taught me that; “Nothing is impossible for God”. It is about my work permit so that I may stay in the UK.
When I joined the company, where I work, I was holding a POST STUDY WORK (PSW) Visa which was valid for only 2 years and it expired on 13th March 2014.
To stay and work in UK, I needed a work permit. A Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) was one of the mandatory documents for the application process but my employer was not registered with United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) as a Sponsor to provide the certificate.
I spoke with my Project Manager (PM) at my place of work and he said he would discuss it with the management. After two weeks he said that the management was not willing to apply for sponsorship license as they were previously rejected and that it involved a complicated process.
I explained to him that the process would be simple as I was already working in UK. He told me to gather as much information as I could so that I could defend the case.
That night, my wife and I were so depressed and worried about our future. I had very little hope and my wife had lost any hope she had. God spoke to us through His words Mathew 14:31, Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?" and 17:20, He (Jesus) replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. " We realised from this that even this job I had was given by Jesus and understood that God will always have a better plan for us.
We prayed continuously and our St. Peters church members were also praying for us. We gathered information he had wanted and passed it on to my PM. He then forwarded it to Human Resources (HR) and someone came down from Cheshire to convince me that the management wouldn’t be applying for license and to inform me of what other options I can go for. I was totally broken. Although I was speaking to HR, my heart was speaking to Jesus asking him to help me. At last she said she will talk to the management to see what can be done.
After two weeks HR said that they had had a change of mind and agreed to apply for the license. The company started the process and after 6 weeks we got a response from UKBA saying the application was rejected due insufficient financial documents.
We were depressed but I had a gut feeling this will not be the end and consoled my wife that God must have a better plan for us. On the same day in the evening my manager said they will try to get the document if possible. I knew that moment it was Jesus who is fighting for me and was confident that I will get the visa. I went to a private place, knelt down, cried to Jesus and thanked him.
They reapplied the application and got a response within two weeks that the license was approved. We were so happy that God had made everything possible. After crossing all hassles, we submitted our application on March 12th 2014 with God’s support and guidance.
Usually it would take average of 8 weeks but for our surprise/shock we got our visa within 2 weeks. We thanked our Lord Jesus for this wonderful miracle.
‘When God steps in Miracles happen’. Keep Calm and Pray. Praise the Lord!

Thank you Jesus for this wonderful day
In this moment, I want to share a small testimony with you. I know it would be a bit funny but God taught me a lesson.
One of my friends gave me a little cutting of a Shamrock purple plant. The fascinating is that its leaves open up in the morning and closes up at night.
I kept the plant in a pot at the side of my window. I was amazed to see God’s creation and happy to look at the growth of the plant.
The plant started to die in March 2013, as my husband carelessly sprayed some chemicals over it while cleaning the windows. I felt very sad; cleaned the waste of the dried plant and just left aside the pot in the window. I usually blame my husband whenever I see the empty pot.
Two weeks back (February 2014) I was surprised to see the plant started to grow again. I know it is barely impossible and no way for the plant to grow again but God made it possible.
The situation seems to be impossible or a complete failure; We may think there is no way. But with God everything is possible. Is anything too hard for the Lord? God can make impossible to possible. If God is for us who could ever stop us. If God is with us, then what can stand against us? If our heavenly Father is even taking care of this little plant aren’t we much more valuable?
Praise the Lord!

The following testimony is from Iain Duncan who found this website after an online search and left the following on our "Blog Page" (*note: Homegroups are now called LifeGroups)
I was
so pleased to find this website and to see some photographs that bring back
wonderful memories of my very short time I spent with a housegroup in 1985.
I had come down to London to work as a chef at the RNOH and had a flatmate who knew one of the nurses who attended St Peters. My flatmate was invited to a house group and wanted me to go along and keep him company, so having a vague interest in things of a metaphysical nature, I went along as well.
This was the first time in my life I had met Christians. My only other contact with religious people had been suit wearing door-knocking people who quite frankly creeped me out. But meeting Carole and Brendan Malone and their family, and Dave and Brenda who led the housegroup at Brendan's home just completely blew my paradigm.
These were real people who were open and caring and not afraid to let you know they were not perfect or had all the answers. I was really intrigued and continued to go along to the house groups.
We were going through Mark's gospel and despite my utter lack of knowledge of Christianity or the bible, the pieces began to fit together concerning who Jesus was and what he came to do.
Within a few weeks of attending the group and reading some books by David Watson, I began to feel very drawn towards Christ and wondered what the next step was.
It was near the end of June 1985 that I came home from a visit in Norfolk and went into my room and locked the door, then prayed my very first prayer and asked Christ to save me.
The housegroup met soon after and I remember we were sitting in a circle and the group was praying. So I prayed as well and thanked God for answering my prayer and changing my heart.
Brendan opened one eye and smiled! It was like being welcomed into heaven.
So my first time attending a church service was at St Peter’s, and every time I hear the song ' You Are The King Of Glory' that service comes to mind.
Its a long time ago now, but I am still a Christian and married to Rachel and we have three children and live in Southampton.
None of you will remember me, but I will never forget St Peters.
I thank Brendan and Carole for their encouragement and for opening their home, and Dave and Brenda for those sessions on Mark. Thank you Su Parry for being a friend.
God Bless you all,
Iain Duncan
